My dad brought one recently, and didn't like it so brought something else.

He rang today to say that I can have the V3 if I like, but he said it is on Orange, and I am on O2 both payg.

Do I just try my O2 sim in it to see if it works or what ??

Oh and if it is locked, shall I swap to Orange or get the phone unlocked ?? Have to say I am not overly keen on Orange, thats why I swapped to O2.

Orange phones tend to be locked to orange. If it has hte Orange logo stamped on the phone somewhere it will almost certainly be locked to Orange. If not it doesn't gurantee theat it won;t be IYSWIM.

Where did he get the phone from? If he brought it brandnew as part of an 'orange package' with te sim - again I would think it was locked. If he brought it second hand or SIM free less ilkely to be locked.

I think it is fairly simple to unlock. Usually costs at bout £10 round here I think. There is a man on our market that will do it so we wouldn't have to send away to internet sites. Never actually done it though.
