Historical Breakdown cover - not told it didn’t cover motorbike

I’m just interested if anyone had ever claimed for this.

A few years ago I told out a bank account and was told the benefits of their advance account include motor breakdown cover. At the time my main (and for quite some time only) form of transport was my motorbike. On one episode my bike wouldn’t start and when I rang for assistance I was told that this didn’t cover motorbikes, only cars. This definitely wasn’t made clear and wasn’t clear in the policy wording. I’ve never chased it up and no longer have a bike. But I often wonder if I would be eligible to claim back.

Claim what back? You had the cover, you just didn't have a vehicle that was covered by it....

Yes! Paid for bank accounts can get all their money back - I got 6 years of payments back from Lloyd's

What was your reasoning @LaurieFairyCake when you put in the claim and how did you go about it?

@Oakmaiden the fact that they sold it to me as “vehicle” breakdown fully knowing I only had a motorbike and then when I needed to use the service they told me it only covers cAra.

How would they know you had a motorbike not a car. There were probably other benefits such as travel insurance or free overdraft. Some people would have no vehicle to cover. Few would benefit from all those offered.

@LIZS because when I asked about the breakdown cover I said I only have a motorbike and they said I would be covered.

Well, you didn't say that in your OP. You said it "wasn't made clear" that motorbikes were not covered, not "they lied and said they were covered". Which is very different.

Even then, I can't see what you would be claiming. You didn't pay for the service, so they can't refund you....

How long ago was this, anyway?

We had similar long story mis sold cover had to pay £60 for a breakdown but claimed back. If no loss suffered I point wee what could be claimed?
