I want a carpet shampooer......help me choose please!

Want one that leaves the carpets relatively dry afterwards - not waiting days for it to dry out and also, what about the cleaning fluids in them - would DS be ok to crawl around after?

We have a Bissel which is excellent. However the carpets are slightly damp after (about 1hrs drying time) we have been using it since before dd came along (so throughout the "crawling months") and she was always fine
