Help! What can I wear for these weddings??

OK. Have 4 weddings coming up: 1 in October, 2 in November, 1 next April.

Don't know what to wear! Was sort of thinking a dress but they are all a bit skimpy or frumpy - nothing in between. And so many halter neck tops/dresses about - definitely a no-no for me. Have just lost 31 lbs and am bordering on being a size 10/12 (from a 14/16) so I want something sexy (but not tarty!) And what would I wear over the top? How about a trouser suit? Have seen a nice one in the Next Xmas Directory - sort of plum coloured. Also is a nice one in the ordinary directory - with a long line jacket and boot cut trousers, but it's black. Can one wear black for weddings these days?

I'm thinking I may get more use out of a suit - and can ring the changes with different tops. Aaargh...dunno. Help!!!

Not wearing a hat btw. Rambling now. Advice please.

Just imagining MIL and FIL's faces if I turned up to their son's wedding (not the son I'm married to, obviously!) in a leather mini dress and killer stilettos....

yeah, go on then

Thanks all - have sent off for a catalogue mothernature. I am still veering towards a trouser suit I think.

I really like this site: kew online - they have velvet skirts and cardigan-type tops. Not as ubiquitous as Boden either! Black is OK but I think colour is nice for weddings, and the colours this year are lovely.

Oh yes, kew kew KEWWWWWW!!!!

Go on, MM. Go on, go on, go on.

Buy some nice underwear too, to celebrate your svelte gorgeousness.

Florence, thanks for that link, gorgeous stuff - I have sent for a catalogue (I like to browse via hard copy, with a cup of coffee to hand - internet browsing just isn't the same!)

Motherinferior - have I told you lately that I love you? "Svelte gorgeousness"...
