expensive paint and small boys (another Farrow and Ball thread sorry...)

Have a whole large Victorian terrace to decorate and my head is swimming with paint choices, please help me out!

I desperately aspire to become a fully fledged F&B paint ponce but previous threads suggest that the finish won't be up to coping with two small boys (and can it cope in a bathroom)? I have fallen in love with the colours and want nothing less Is Dulux colour mixing the solution?

And while we're at it, what about Fired Earth? I've hardly read a good word about it but have to admit I prefer some of the colours to F&B. Will it be a hideous mistake?

Please help me

I have a feeling Farrow and Ball may not be the household name it is down in the SE!

Look in Yellow Pages, on line and ask your local builder/decorator

If you really love the colour you can use acrylic eggshell (not oil-based eggshell) on walls which is obviously much tougher than emulsion and would be suitable for bathroom walls. All F&B colours come in acrylic eggshell via their website. The problem comes when you want to paint over it unless you use the same type of paint. I may be talking gibberish of course so it may be best to check with them, but that is how I understand it.

I like Fired Earth- love the colours- every room in our house is Fired Earth, though I'm hankering after F+B Dead Salmon for my study!

the FE matt emulsion is VERY matt, which is what we wanted, and the colours gentle. It was probably a mistake to use it in the kitchen, as dh is unable to cook without getting mess evrywhere, but we have done the dining room in the same colour and have some left over, so we're just going to repaint soon!

Try using paintsamples co uk. They sell any Farrow and Ball colour ready painted onto handy, portable, no mess, eco friendly A4 sized cards for a lot less than the price of a pot.
