Considering a Volvo XC90 for 3 teenager family.

What are my other options? (Don't need car seats anymore)

The Prius plus does (plus the option of 2 seats as a third row).

Raera · 10/11/2019 18:09

vw touran plus 2 in the back which fold down really easily.

Ford galaxy (but we're going to get an xc90 when we change next time!)

Zebrasinpyjamas · 10/11/2019 18:14

VW Sharan does.

I have three car seats across the back of my Zafira so I'm sure three teens would fit comfortably

VaguelySkeletal · 10/11/2019 18:44

Only MPVs.

So the next question is how much boot space do you want? If a lot, then you'll end up with a full size MPV, like a Galaxy. If middling, then you'll end up with a middling MPV, like a Prius+, which looks like an estate car. And so on down to the small MPVs, which look more like a standard family car.

But be warned that the middle seat in anything other than a full size MPV may not have enough leg room for teenage feet.

We had a Skoda superb estate for 3 teens.

Findumdum1 · 10/11/2019 21:57

Thanks all. I don't want anything as big as a Galaxy. We've had SMAX in the past and they very much fit the bill. I'm just a bit bored with them. Boot space doesn't have to be massive. No prams anymore and bikes go on top. Currently driving a mini SUV type 5 seater and the middle seat isn't wide enough. Guess I need to go back to a 7 seater larger SUV which, it seems, is the XC90 ...

Land Rover discovery?

GetRid · 10/11/2019 21:59

If you can afford an XC90 then why not? They're fab cars and really safe

Bunnylady53 · 10/11/2019 22:04

“ Moddle” is a lovely word OP!

Findumdum1 · 10/11/2019 22:13

yeah Land Rover Discovery is another option - I havent been impressed in the past though and I dont like the off centre licence plate but that's a bit silly I know.

I'm going to test drive and XC90 but wanted tomake sure I wasn't missing any options - Peugot 5008?

Try the Citroen C5 aircross. 3 independent rear seats, two with isofix. We got this and find plenty of room for two car seats and a booster seat, plus leg room in middle as no centre consol in rear

Came on to post same query so following with interest.

I have a Honda FRV which I love. 6 seater. 3 full adult seats front and back. Massive cabin. Good size boot. Need to replace it as it’s getting old. Need 3 full seats plus can’t downsize to a 5 seater as we always need room for friends so guessing I need a 7 seater. Need massive boot as do a lot of active camping holidays. Don’t like typical mpvs like CMax as feel I’m driving a ‘mum bus’ Xmas Blush. Have thought about Volvo and also VW caravelles/shuttles.
