Need a car to fit rear facing seats and tall driver

We are looking for a car that can fit a tall adult (6'1") in the driver and passenger seat. But we have a rear facing toddler seat, and will soon need to add a newborn seat as well (eventually two rear facing toddler seats I guess).

Once the car seats are fitted, our current car doesn't have enough room to move the driver and passenger seats all the way back. So it seems like we will need a new car.

Looking for people's experiences of which cars might have enough front and rear legroom to fit us all. These aren't the sort of measurements that are easy to research online, so thought I'd ask here.

Depends on what else u want from the car 🤷‍♀️ I'm sure there are lots options

We have the same needs and have a Mitsubishi Outlander phev. Plenty of room. Hybrid too which brings many extra benefits

I'd go to a big second hand car dealership and try them out with your current car seat.
I have a VW TRoc and with a rear facing seat my DH whose also 6'1 can just about fit in the front, but I don't know if he'd be able to drive. (It's a lovely car though )🤣

Have a look at the Car Seat Advice UK group on Facebook - they have lots of useful info and advocate rear-facing.

We got a Skoda Superb because 6'4 DH could not drive our other car with 2 ERF seats. Tons of legroom.

Citroën C4 Picasso
Ford Galaxy
Opal Zafira (can’t remember uk name!)

All of these fitted 6ft 7 DH with child seats behind

we ended up with a citreoen C4 people carrier - 7 seats. Others we looked at were the toyota avensis and ford S Max. We found a few with adjustable seats in the back ( mainly people carriers but also some of the 5 seat MPVs) It is a tricky one IME and one which completely bemuses the average show room salesperson.

Would also look at what people drive in Sweden... Everyone keeps there kids ERF to about 6 years old and most people are very tall! (We didn’t have a volvo sized budget though!)

We have a BMW 220d Active tourer. DH is 6'4 and although we don't have car seats anymore DS2, also, 6'4 sits behind him very comfortably. He shares lifts with 3 other men and there's plenty of leg room for them all

Assuming you're looking for normal rather than limo-sized cars, then the Skoda Superb has them all beat for cabin length. It would have to be driven by someone part-giraffe before he/she interfered with a rear-facing seat behind the driver.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Going to check a few of them out!
