... does anyone know of a - I kind of know what I mean - sort of clip on light that will travel up there, and that she can turn off herself? TIA

DD has one of the star ones from Ikea attached to the wall near her head, they have long enough cords usually. They do stars, moons, pink flowers and white flowers. Very cheap and easy to trun off/on.

My dd has the Ikea moon. I thas a long cord which reaches to the socket which is at skirting board level, but the switch to turn the light on/off is high up - in fact it is the most perfect height for use with a cabin bed.

Homebase sell metallic round ones that you push to turn on/off, battery powered and stick on.

DD3 has the Ikea one. Cheap, cheerful and does the job.

We brought our DD one of these www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumbe r=776116 they all mention not to be attached to a bed but we have had no problems, she is only allowed it on while reading then I turn it off.
