Confused over the vast crib/travel cot/playpens 😫

I was hoping to find a travel cot that could be used a as a crib for the baby until he goes into his proper cot bed in his own room. If it could end up as a playpen too that would be fab! Anyone have any ideas whether this item exists? I found Chicco Zip and Go as i think that’s ok as a permanent crib? But not sure if putting baby in a travel cot is ok for his main bed for the first few months?

I had to use a travel cot as a permanent bed when dd was around 1.
It worked fine but definitely needed a mattress.
However I would say they are very deep which can be a strain on your back and I can't imagine doing it after a c section for example.
Would you consider a moses basket or a next to me type arrangement which can be sold on and bought second hand if you don't want to be buying lots of 'stuff'?

I'd second the recommendation of buying an additional mattress. Some travel costs come with bassinets as well, so no straining your back in the early days.
