Currently on the lookout for a new car. I have a Kia Sorento atm but it's reaching the end of its warranty and nearing 100,000 miles and we have had so many problems with it recently that I'm not prepared to keep it and risk having to shell out a fortune on it. No longer have a horse so don't really need the 4x4 capability but open to options. Would ideally like an estate, though, as cheaper to run and less juicy, in theory, than an SUV, whilst still providing the space.
2 large dogs and a baby so need space in the boot for a pram plus the dogs. The Sorento's boot is just about big enough. I've looked at the Skoda Octavia but the boot isn't tall or deep enough for us.
Like the look of the Skoda Superb but second hand models with the spec we want seem to be like rocking horse shit and are snapped up quickly. Dealership have contacted me about an Audi A6 that might suit. Has everything we want and certainly seems spacious enough. I'd discounted Audi as out of our price range but this is within budget. DH is concerned parts will be too expensive if it needs repairs, though.
Anyone have any experience of any of these cars or any other suggestions? Budget is reasonable, around the £17k mark as a maximum for a used car. If you have one of the above do you find it to be reliable? Are repairs reasonable or very expensive? What's the fuel economy like? Any opinions welcomed! 😊
