If you could only keep ONE gadget in your kitchen which one would you save as the most useful????? (Ourselves excluded of course)

I am trying to find THE most useful
mixer/blender/chopper/grinder/juicer/smoothiemaking/dough-hooking/pastry-making/time saving/all rounder to help me with our new resolution to cook from scratch and improve our daily diet.

Kitchenaid is a handsome fella, but only for cakes. Kenwood Chef is for everything. I heart mine.

have you regressed to eb 14 dully?

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 15:15

i seem to manage fine without all those gadgets that cost the earth. they take up space, they use all the electricity, when clearly they are not necessary

Definitely hand blender. In terms of non-electric gadgets love my zester.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/07/2007 15:18

kitchen aid mixer

Mamalil · 04/07/2007 17:03

Sounds like a knife sharpener would be a good place to start. A set of wives (armed with best recipes) would be most useful too.
Thanks all.

Nailpolish, surely they don't use all the electricity?

Good knife sharpener. Mine's got a handle and two off-set discs. Hwick-wick-wick - sharp as you like.

Sure I'll get flamed for this but I LOVE my magimix AND my kitchenaid. What one doesn't do the other does.
