Going to visit italian friends in Sardinia in a couple of weeks.Need presents for couple in early 40's and their dd 7 and ds 5.He is an English teacher and likes music:saxaphone, photography and she likes cooking.Have bought recepie and photograph books of Scottish landscapes in the past(he lived there a while).

I am at a loss for inspiration.I know it is a long shot but has anyone any good present ideas for the family preferably British.Anything uniquely English or Scottish.I need to be able to take them in my luggage allowance on easyjet also!

Shortbread biscuits for the children? a double decker red bus toy? (it may look naf and tourist oriented but as a young child growing up abroad I remember them being sooooo special)

Some gourmet apple's or tomatoes' chutney?

I have friend who having lived in North Yorkshire has made me carry Betty's fat rascals all the way to South America!
