Child's bike seat or trailer?

I have a 2.5yr old and 9mth old and we would really love to start cycling again. We had a seat for dd but the weight seems to have bent it! Should we get a trailer for 2, are they heavy/usuable, or do the ymake the whole thing a pain? The other option is to get 2 new seats (ones which atattch to a panier rack, and look sturdier?). Please help!
p.s dd is reasonably tall but can't weigh more than 26lb.

Dp suggests two Bobike seats or a trailer...we aren't sure if a 9 month old could go in all of the trailers, have you seen one that was suitable?

OR a trailer for dd, and a Bobike Mini for the front for your baby, with the option of moving baby into the trailer when older

what bike have you got?

Dp says if money no object get a Gazelle Bloom bike with 2 seats fitted and the frame designed for 2 children to ride on it!

We've got rubbishy non-pro cheap bikes. I've been looking at a few trailers and as far as i'm aware they are suitable for 9mth olds (spokey joe, avenir, rhode gear) What are bobike seats? Btw on a totally unrelated note, i am a serial lurker and have received some great mooncup advice from you (first month and am in love with it!!) Cheers

Money is a huge object!

Oh good (about the mooncup)

DON'T buy an avenir if it has the same hitch as ours because it is shite. Get one that bolts onto the hub.

Erm dp meant have you got mountain bike or other type? Can't rememeber why this was relevant but will check later and reply this evening

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2007 07:35

Oh dp says if mountain bike they are not usually stable enough to have 2 seats on, in his opinion

and Bobike seats are just a very good make of seat which come in various sizes and options
