DESTROY All Humans!

DS (9.5) is adamant that he has played this game (Destroy All Humans 2) at his friend's house and now wants to buy it for himself.

It is Age Rating 15. Does anyone know this game or play it themselves? How bad is it? Would you let your child play it?

I feel quite liberal letting him watch cert 12 films...
I feel inherently that he shouldn't buy this game but as it is his money, and I know nothing about this game I don't want to be too puritanical either.

Any thoughts, oh mighty court of MN?

(We both agree to abide by the court's ruling )

Actually I think I am hearting him a little ...(plus I love Deep Forest - the music playing - a lot)

just in case anyone doesn't know what F&Z is on about...(no change there then)

fannyannie · 17/05/2007 09:48

Boco · 17/05/2007 10:22

I don't know i was confused must've made that name up.

Did he really email you? Was he threatening you with an injunction and that's why you won't go into details?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 17/05/2007 10:26

I knew this would be a good thread when I saw Boco's name - you've made me laugh. You too Franny!

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 11:07

He really, really did email me

would I lie about something so precious to my heart?

he even made a kind of innnuendo based joke but it is far too intimate to divulge on here

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 11:08

Margo I fail to see what is funny in Miss Boco's jealous ploys to steal my tender-calved young man from me

I often have heated debates with my boys about age-appropriate stuff and in my experience the censors are actually much more lenient in their ratings than I would be. Your son is going to be disappointed but not damaged if he doesn't get this game. He MIGHT be damaged by being allowed to play a 15 over and over when he is only 9. So I would say a firm NO.

Boco · 17/05/2007 11:45

Ahhhh, was the innuendo based joke along the lines of 'if you contact me again you'll be eating porridge for a long time?'

filthymindedvixen · 17/05/2007 11:52

restraining order from Poor Matty's lawyers currently winging its way to Chez Franny

Kerry, I agree...we have nary a toy gun in the house.
But his friend is a lovely, well brought up child with pleasant mum. I wonder if she knows what this game is like or whether she'll think I'm a pathetic shark for caring about such things. (How I hate that 'well, what can you do, they're surrounded by stuff evreywhere, if they don't play ot at home, they'll play it behind your back'' argument.

Another friend has had Grand Theft Auto since he was 6! Now that one I had heard of
Anyway, thanks, I think I have learned enough to know he ain't getting this game.

It was a sexual innuendo based on spoons if you must know

now leave our relationship in peace

DimpledThighs · 17/05/2007 12:29

Boco- how can you not 'heart' a man who comes up with and executes such a wonderful concept.

I must add I don't love him in the "F&Z sex way" just the "he is a nice bloke" way.

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 13:24

Who says I love him in an F&Z sex way?

what is an F&Z sex way?

I find the capacity for happiness a very attractive quality indeed.

thequeenofcontradiction · 17/05/2007 13:59

I've played DAH 1 and it was pretty violent but in a stupid comic-book way. If he was 12 then I'd say maybe, but I think that 9.5 is too young.

Boco · 17/05/2007 14:27

Has F&Z sex got something to do with spoons?

DimpledThighs · 17/05/2007 14:29

yes - and mooncups

filthymindedvixen · 17/05/2007 19:07

well I totally love him in a F&Z sex way!!

(Oh dear gods..ought I to get clarification first on what that might actually entail...?)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 20:18

I am still waiting to hear a proper account of it myself FMF

filthymindedvixen · 17/05/2007 20:47

c'mon people,we need answers dammit!
What is F&Z sex?
