Thinking of getting one for ds 1st birthday. He loves the one at nursery. However, at home we have a winne the poo train which he toddles around on. I am wondering whether he will just loose interest when he can walk unaided or will find other things to do with it. He uses alot of dd's toys because there is only 2.5yrs between them. I am wracking my brains over what to get him because we have so much stuff that dd had at his age. Do I splash out and get one or think of something smaller? ......... I just don't want to short change him .

Do you mean the one with all the bricks in? my ds has been walking for ages, and we just bought him one of these last week as I wanted one for his first birthday, and it didn't materialise.

He loves it, as do his big sisters. I wouldn't worry about him growing out of it.

Dd (15 mths) still isn't walking unaided and loves her wooden trolley from Mothercare with bricks in. She takes the bricks out and walks around the room, filling her trolley with all sorts of stuff.

Yes, the one from elc with the bricks in. I think I might go for it then - esp if big sis can find use for it as well [smile}

We got the one from Blooming Marvellous, it scoots away from them a bit too fast at first, so I don't think I'd recommend it. DS1 (aged 4) was playing with it this morning, it still gets used as a scooter around the house, so you don't need to worry about a short toy-life!

I know what you mean about short-changing the second child on presents. TBH I think the only person who minds is the older sibling...

I've started another thread on that in parenting .

My ds 2 (age3) still plays with his toddle truck - much manic running up and down the corridors bashing into walls
