Am looking for one of those kids bikes without pedals - wooden or metal frame preferably with removable pedals. Do they only exist in Germany? Can anyone recommend one?

I've got the Puky ones. Dd1 went on about 3-4 times and was a bit frustrated the first couple of times then suddenly got the hang of it and went straight on to a pedal bike without stabilisers. dd2 who is not yet 3 has a smaller Puky and is getting the hang of it more slowly. I ordered them online somewhere and they were about £50 but I suppose worth it for the time and pain saved in hanging on to the back of a normal bike. Having said that someone on here recommended lowering the seat and taking the pedals off a normal pedal bike. COuld give that a go first?

got ours on ebay i think - from germany.
ds1 LOVES it.
the wooden ones also look good, but may not cope so well with being left out in the rain accidentally ismy concern.
jojomanabebe had wooden ones fairly rcently.

Any bike will do as long as they can touch the ground with flat feet just take the pedals off. If your unsure how to do that get them to do at the bike shop when you get the bike.
I got dd a bike at the recycling centre (the tip) for £2.50 and did this, age three. When she was just over 3 1/2 she asked for the pedals and within half an hour she was away with no help from me, haven't looked back since.

John lewis sell them for about £40 which is a bargin compared to some you can buy in this country. We bought a new one from ebay which came from Germany, the delivery was quick and the bike is good too.
