Has anyone got one of these? They're about £30-40 in Mothercare/ Jo Jo. Are they worth the money? Worth the hassle of lugging it to the beach? I'm taking my very pale-skinned dd, 14 mths, on hols next month and thought it might be a good investment. Would love to hear any positives/negatives...thanks.

Can't think of anything more tedious meself.
My kids ahve been to and lived in lots of hot places. Longsleeved clothes, hats and lots of sunscreen did the trick.I mean, can you imagine getting the baby to saty in it for a start??

we have one and used it lots on the beach when on hol. my ds had his afternoon naps in it and would sit in it for spells to play with toys, have snack, read his book etc.

we borrowed one for ds when he was 2 and a bit but he wouldn't really stay in it (though his dad enjoyed lying in it!)

borrowing the same one for dd next week when we're off to France, she'll be 8 months. i'll be very surprised if she doesn't spend hours sitting in it

guess it depends on how likely your LO is to sit still and play/rest in it

as far as hassle at the beach, it's very light and easy to carry but definately practise putting it up and down (we really struggled to put it away!)

I have one from Argos and it is very light and easy to carry.

However, I have found that when the sun is out and you would want to use it, it becomes unbearable hot inside. I ended up using it as a fancy windbreak as ds was sweating so much.

Also if it is a pop up one, they are near impossible to put down again. I have to keep the instructions in the bag with it and always have a comedy moment trying to get it small enough to fit in the bag, only for it to pop up again!

Having said that, if I was going to the beach with my los I would take it. The one we have has sort of wings that you can use as windbreaks so that you can use it as both.

We bought this one
