i don't own a jacket! can you believe that...

anyway, am on a hunt for something that will go with my standard gear (trainers/birkenstocks, jeans, cropped trousers, combat style bottoms with t shirts on top). i am 5.4 weigh 10 1/2 stone (still have a stone to lose post ds, 9months old) and have biggish boobs (34 E).

trawled round oasis, monsoon, gap, kew, hennes yesterday to no avail, everything either doesn't hide the flab round my middle or makes my boobs look enormous, or doesn't fit round the boobs. there was a zip up denim jacket in gap that was ok ish, but the medium was bit tight and the large was huge.

help me please.

any fashionistas/trinny-suzanne types out there that can advise? cod are you on holiday?

x

Principles online ?

NomDePlume · 29/07/2004 13:53

Principles Jackets . They also have a petite section too.

NomDePlume · 29/07/2004 13:55

Although perhaps a single breasted blazer type jacket would be better, with a deep v front ? High necked / collared jackets will make you look like a wall of tits, IME !

spacemonkey · 29/07/2004 14:00

iirc trinny and susannah say narrow lapels and single breasted for large norked ladies, unfortunately i am not well endowed in the chest area so am unable to advise from experience

Heathcliffscathy · 29/07/2004 14:03

sm how are you???? all go smoothly? get in touch when dust settles...

nomdeplume: i quite like it, but have never been massive fan of nehru collar look, however, am seriously considering it...it's right in that is it fitted and casual.

are the shops going to be crammed with jackets soon as it will be end of summer?

any more for any more?

what about this boden one? or is it too casual?

this one's a bit posher, but would go with jeans

NomDePlume · 29/07/2004 14:06

Have you tried Debenhams online ? Topshop sometimes have Blazer type jackets on their online shopping site, too.

Northerner · 29/07/2004 14:06

I reckon your after something abit more casual aren't you?

What about something like this

Northerner · 29/07/2004 14:07

Why can't I do links?

Aargh!!!

Heathcliffscathy · 29/07/2004 14:10

bundle: like number one, but pockets on boobs??? perhaps not...

love number two, but these jackets always look great off, but never seems to on me, would have to try.

northerner, i'm going to look at topshop online now.

sorry sophable, I'd forgotten the most important bit! don't really have that problem myself...

bundle · 29/07/2004 14:13

top shop sizes v skinny, imo

Heathcliffscathy · 29/07/2004 14:16

am i right in thinking that i should go for higher top button types? rather than deep v (with boobs bursting forth)

OP posts:
spacemonkey · 29/07/2004 14:19

hi sophable have emailed you

i am sure trinny and su say deep v is better for big bosoms

bundle · 29/07/2004 14:52

deep v probably, and fitted. shows off yer curves
