Buying a second hand car - cash discount advice please- deal to be done or not?

Looking to buy a second hand car, possibly BMW from the main dealer. Pricing under £12,000. Am I expected to pay the advertised price or is there a 'deal to be done'? Anyone bought recently. Don't want to make an idiot of myself ....actually either way, by offering the full price or by expecting to barter!

You’ll get the worst deal for cash, basically they don’t want to sell to cash buyers. End of the month or end of the quarter could see them more eager to shift units.
