New Car - Peugeot 5008 or VW touran

Help please!! We need a new car, 7 seater with 3 equal seats in the middle row. Narrowed the choice down to these two. Other issue is one you cannot lock unless all the doors are properly closed. Any thoughts appreciated!

I have the 5008 and it’s fine but I think the tourism is bigger and, probably, better....

The Touran won’t lock if the driver door is open but that’s it. I usually lock mine, put the key in my pocket then get DD out while her door is open.

I love it, although you will find the middle seat is slightly narrower if you look carefully so it’s probably not the right one.

The touran isn't equal seats. Have you looked at the grand Picasso? The seats are good and the floor is flat in the back so more leg room.

thanks for the comments. We had a touran and were happy with it. The door locking was an issue if the kids left the door open. However, the car only lasted 6 years then complete engine failure. Didn't feel we got the benefit of the brand so looking around. 3 kids so 3 equal seat is essential.

The critics are raving about the Peugeot 3008 and the 5008 is a bigger version. I haven’t seen it in the metal, but I’d say it’s bigger than the Touran. Although I’m a VW fan, the Touran is an ageing model whilst the 5008 is brand new, so probably more suited to current driving and family requirements. A taxi firm owned by the dad of one of the mums at ballet had 3 Peugots. I'm not sure if they were the 3008 or 5008. Two of them were brilliant. The 3rd spent more time in the garage waiting for parts tham it spent on the road.
