Islabike for just 4 year old who had never used a balance bike or tricyle

Is this a mad idea to get DD (just turned 4) a CNOC 14 or 16, probably with stabilisers (though I know that's not recommended), when she has never used a balance bike or even a tricycle, really?

Isn't it a bit late too get a balance bike? Shall we just bite the bullet and start from here? Have seen a few on ebay or will consider new. Just want to get her cycling by hook or by crook!

Thanks!

No, not a mad idea at all. Islabikes are fantastic. However don’t use stabilisers they are awful and will hold her back. Just take the pedals off the bike and lower the saddle.

I’m with Queen. Don’t get stabilisers- just take the pedals off and have her use it like a balance bike until she gets the hang of it. That’s what we did with DS1 for his 4th birthday. He and a few weeks getting used to it with no pedals, then when he was confident balancing we put the pedals on. He took about 15 minutes to get the hang of pedalling.

Thanks a lot. We've ordered one today! Bit the bullet. And didn't order stabilisers either... fingers crossed - and thanks!
