Stupid bed company...stupid situation any ideas?

DH & I bought a new bed last year

2 bed slats broke

I was promised some replacement slats......3 months later after many phone calls and failed promises of arrival they say

"Your bed is discontinued.....so we can't replace the slats......so you can have a new bed upto £190"

But our bed was in the sale so all the £190 beds are crap

But they won't pay to have the slats replaced

So either we get a crap new bed or we pay to replace them

Bummer

It's where there was a knot in the wood and it was obviously weakened

Katy, in my experience of these things, you only have to mention the two words, TRADING STANDARDS, and you will get what you need ... either the replacement slats, or a new bed to a value up to, say, £300.00. The fact that you bought the bed in a sale should not affect your statutory rights.

I don't really want to take it apart & put a new one up

I want 2 bits of wood - dead cheap from B&Q - which is only accorss the road from the shop - but head office is being stupid

wouldn't it be worth the lack of stress and hassle to just go and buy those two bits of wood from B&Q yourself and mend the bed. It won't cost much and it won't take long.
