OK, need power of mumsnet to find me a silver rail 130cm long to be attached over my window so i can hang things from it and use my horried window for storage! Window is 120cm wide so would need to be 130cm really to fit nice.

like this but 130cm+

TIA

Can you not just use a curtain rail, or would it not take enough weight?

bonkerz · 12/04/2007 22:07

not sure to be honest. Was looking at possibility. would have to cut to size!

Lots of curtain poles here - you could have some nice decorative ends too. If you bought from a diy place, they might cut it to size for you, maybe?

Don't ikea do some extendable curtain poles, would they work?

DANCESwithaFewExtraPounds · 12/04/2007 22:12

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....DON'T do extendable poles. You end up with a bump half way down the pole where it is extended and the curtain hoops won't go over it without fiddling with them EVERY damn night

JackieNo · 12/04/2007 22:13

I don't think she wants it for curtains, though - or have I got the wrong end of the stick (or pole)?

bonkerz · 12/04/2007 22:14

dont want to use for curtains! Want to hang wire baskets form it so i can store things like kitchen roll etc.

New kitchen being fitted end of month and sadly this is the best way of utilising the wall with window on it! Baskets are great from ikea but rails too short. Am thinking curtain pole may work. Thanks
