Very very very absolutely wonderful great excellent good.....and no, I am not on commission!
No, serious, I have 3 yr old and 1 yr old. Bought it for my first 1 yr old. Since baby was born, I would push babe and carry toddler when needed otheriwise she would walk. Now, I can use it to carry baby or toddler, it is easy to pick up and put down, as toddlers always want, and not restrictive like a sling (we have one of those too!!) Judging by comfort, I can imagine carrying the toddler quite happily (not that she will need) for the next couple of years.....it really is very easy on your back and comfortable, the knack is to do it up tight, and it takes all the weight off your arms and shooulders.
My honest best buy for transport!
HOpe thAT HELPS!....

Love mine too and am still using it in preference over taking a pushchair sometimes. I got mine from my local kids shop but they sell them on the urchin site and possibly GLTC. They're called a hippychick child hipseat. I've got quite narrow hips and find that I have to do it up really tightly to get a secure fit and it does begin to dig into my supporting hip after an hour or two around the shops, but thats carrying my ds2 who is 2.3mo and weighs 13kgs. Just having to give it up now that my 18week bump has popped out!

And occasionally ds1 comes up for a cuddle on it and he is 3.8mo.

I used one when DS was about 1 when we visited a National Trust property. They didn;t let back carriers in (but thats another story!!!) but had the hip thingys. OK to carry him but worse than the carrier from a NT point of view because 1 hand couldn't be controlled !! Although we successfully got round without destroying off any priceless antiques !

I really want one but am too much of a cheapskate to part with the money. Anyone want to sell me a secondhand one?

SoupDragon · 12/07/2004 23:04

Loved the one I borrowed. Stopped using it when DS2 was around 2.5 I think. Also carried 3.5 yo DS1 on it though!

If you still want one I have a hippychick (used once) for sale for £20.

Love mine too, still use it on the 4 year old sometimes when he has had enough. Wouldn't recommend it with him for long distances though.
Fantastic invention!
