Those little gel shapes that stick on windows....

Just reached up to clean dd's velux bedroom window (high so never get too close) and have found that the little butterfly gel shapes we stuck up there a couple of years ago have melted and are now drippy butterfly shapes Has anyone else had this experience? She'd like new ones but I'm not buying more if this is going to happen again...Surely they're designed to cope with the sun shining on them and warming them up through the glass?
TIA

just asked dh when we got them - was Christmas 2005 so only just over a year...
They do look rather edible don't they?

Same problem here-dd ripped them into small pieces and tried to eat them. And there was me thinking she would just think they were pretty and I had put them out of reach.....
