Before I spend ages saving only to be disappointed with these things....

  1. where do you keep raincover if you have doubles kit on?
  1. Does the P+T fit through your internal doors in house with ease as my porch door is very narrow?
  1. If using double seat on front can you lower where it sits as it seems very high?
  1. Can you fold it with doubles stuff on or does it all come off? If so how long does it take?
  1. Do you have to remove wheel when folding it down?

  1. where do you keep raincover if you have doubles kit on?

If with baby flat - just fits in shopping basket, but you need to get baby out to get raincover out. If in doubles mode, can obv still fit in shopping basket, but your lo will nestle their wellies in it. Tbh, I only take it out if it REALLY looks like it's going to p it down. The biggest frustration for me with the P&T (which I love) is lack of carrying space.

  1. Does the P+T fit through your internal doors in house with ease as my porch door is very narrow?
Yes - dimensions should be on the website if you want to check though
  1. If using double seat on front can you lower where it sits as it seems very high?

No. I thought this too, but ds loved his 'high' seat. Somehow it feels lower in doubles mode...

  1. Can you fold it with doubles stuff on or does it all come off? If so how long does it take?

If set up in baby mode, you need to remove front seat, then zip up back seat, then fold. If in doubles mode you remove back seat then fold. We've got a second hand one & the cliky thing that holds the seat is stiff so can take a while ....Otherwise not too bad

  1. Do you have to remove wheel when folding it down?
No. But folds smaller if you do. I don't unless we're off for a few days - shove it in the car as it is.

HTH!

oh another question do you put your oldest or youngest in the back doubles seat and do any of them 'hate' being down there?

OP posts:
hillary · 12/03/2007 20:04
  1. underneath or on pram folded over
  2. Yes & great down stairs too
  3. No but great when you have a long legged toddler as theres not dragging of feet.
  4. All comes off to fold takes 0.1 second (the press of a button)
  5. No very compact

Highly recommended, I'd get the bags you attach to each side, you can fit loads of shopping in them.

hillary · 12/03/2007 20:05

I put the eldest underneath but my baby likes it down there too and they often swap about.

CarGirl · 12/03/2007 20:06

I've used P&T with 3 little ones - one of them disliked being in the back at 12-14 months old but she just dislikes being contained i think. You're supposed to put the lighter one in the back but tbh it is usually fine which ever way you have them.

Nemo2007 · 12/03/2007 20:17

How long do you use the 'baby' bit? DD2 is 2mths and am hoping to get it in next month or so, so is it worth buying a cocoon?

hatrick I have a side by side but it wont fit through my front door and its narrow, with a 2mth old and 14mth old it makes it a bit of a nightmare especially as Ds will start school nursery in september.

  1. where do you keep raincover if you have doubles kit on?

IN THE CAR! IF I NEED TO TAKE IT OUT WITH ME, JUST IN CASE IT RAINS, THEN I EITHER PUT IT DOWN BY DD2'S FEET OR IN A BAG (EITHER THE PANIER BAG OR A BAG I HAVE WITH ME)

  1. Does the P+T fit through your internal doors in house with ease as my porch door is very narrow?

IT FITS FINE THROUGH ANY DOOR I'VE EVER BEEN THROUGH. NEVER STRUGGLED WITH IT ANYWHERE.

  1. If using double seat on front can you lower where it sits as it seems very high?

NO. IT MAY SEEM HIGH AT FIRST BUT I NEVER THINK ABOUT IT NOW AND IT SEEMS VERY NORMAL AND UTTERLY FAB!

  1. Can you fold it with doubles stuff on or does it all come off? If so how long does it take?

IN BABY TODDLER MODE YOU JUST FOLD IT UP. IF IT'S IN 2 TODDLER MODE YOU JUST HAVE TO SLIP OFF THE UNDER CARRIAGE SEAT AND THEN FOLD IT.

  1. Do you have to remove wheel when folding it down?

I'VE NEVER REMOVED THE WHEEL, NEVER NEEDED TO.

lisanorcross · 12/03/2007 20:43

double seat seemed v high to me when i tried phil and teds in shop. my 20 month old dd was nearly hitting head on top canopy. watch video on kiddiecare and they show you how to lenghten doubles seat (can't really explain it...!) at top so there's enough room. this convinced me to buy one and i love it. havent used it in double mode yet...

also pannier bags are brilliant. keep loads of shopping in and don't make pram too wide, although i would say it is wider than a conventional single, though not a lot!

its worth looking at the newer model that has just come out they have made a lot of changes including the toddler seat now reclines, the handle has changed and other things as well.

I had a P&T and loved it

Millarkie · 12/03/2007 21:34
  1. In a pannier bag
  2. yes
  3. No - but it's fine the way it is.
  4. Slip little seat off back and clip it back on top, then fold buggy.
  5. Never removed the wheel (and I've had mine over 3 years).
chex · 13/03/2007 10:01

My son loves riding high up front in his doubles seat - I thought the same at first but it is fine. It folds in seconds with stuff under the buggy (where i keep the raincover) and strapped onto the buggy. (Having a baby 'in the back' makes no difference to the amount of space underneath - it can just be a bit tricky accessing it. it's not impossible though)
It fits through every door I've tried - its not much wider than a normal buggy. I've never removed the wheel.
As for carrying shopping I use those pram clips you can buy at mothercare or anywhere. they're great for hooking bags on.
It's a dream to push. I love my E3!!!!

Further questions re the raincover

  • is it worth getting if it's such a pain to store in the buggy?
  • if you are doing the newborn/toddler combo do you need the double raincover or will the single do?
