Sky HD box, anyone had any trouble with them?

We have had our Sky HD box (Thomson, I think) for less than two weeks and it has gone on the blink. Sky are coming out to look at it on Saturday (there goes my lie in ) and I can't help but wonder if they are known to be faulty?

Sky said that they have found them to be reliable, but then they would say that.

Anyone else had a dodgy one?

we have found that sometimes it records the wrong thing, even though on the planner menu it is showing the correct programme and the info is correct - but when you press play it is something random!

we're keeping an eye on it, think there is a bug in the software though.

with our old sky+ box, we had 2 faulty ones. cost a fortune to get a new one each time as both times just out of warranty.

Sometimes I think sky is more buggy than microsoft software

Our sky+ box has had it. We've unplugged it and are using the sky only box. DH just spotted in the new mag that a 'new' one (prob re-conditioned) is £100. Only £35 more than an engineer and we'll get a guarantee, I guess.

Hope you are sorted now MrsSpoon. you were getting to get a lie-in. What's one of those?

LOL, yes sorted now, new box, hopefully this one will last longer. The engineer phoned on Friday evening and it turned out that the only time he could come on Saturday was when we would be out.

Just need to phone Sky now to get a credit on our account for loss of service and ask if there is any compensation for the loss of hours worth of programmes that we hadn't yet seen!

I had a great lie in on Saturday, 11.30!!!
