Who has a combined oven and grill ??

I desperatly need a new oven, have needed one for about 4 years tbh. Have to wedge the oven door shut with cardboard and only 3 of the rings on the top work.

Anyway, I need a 60cm wide one and they seem to be mega money, cheapest I have found so far is £300 which my mum may agree to (she is having it on credit for me) but I also saw one with a combined oven and grill for £200.

I have always had seperate but tbh don't use the grill very often at all really.

Are the combined ones any good, or should I stick to the seperate ones.

Is it gas or electric you're after ? Personally I'd prefer grill separate to main oven . We had a electric grill/oven in a rented apartments and it was a pita tbh , and harder to clean. We've had a cheap Parklinson Cowan with eyelevel grill for over 15 years and it is just about on its way out(door doesn't quite shut).

Ours is combined and is fine although, like you, we don't often use the grill. It's Indesit which is very cheap...

Electric

Tbh I am not overly keen as have used combined ones on holidays and they always seem to be a pain in the ass, just thought it might save me some money.

Mind you i think £300 for one with a sep oven and grill is good for the size I need.
Just need to speak nicely to my mum now

I used to have combined electric one and I thought it was a pita. Depends on your meal combinations but I remember not being able to make things like baked potato and steak because you can't use grill and oven at the same time.

Belling or Zanussi reduced here or if you cna get to a showroom like Currys you may find an end of range/display one.

Those are great Liz but i have to have a 60 wide one and those are 50 wide.

this one is a good price, just need to see if my mum is ok with it.

Can't you have a small gap ?

nutcracker · 27/12/2006 13:19

Well I have a gap now and tbh it is a pain as the gap is big enough for food to fall down but not big enough for me to be able to get anything up the side to clean it and so it constantly looks filthy.
