ds2 aged 11 weeks loved the fisherprice flutterbyes one I put him in at soft play today, however the toy bar was set too high for him to reach the toys so I had to detach it and hold it for him. kept him entertained for ages though. can anyone recommend one similar but with a toy bar that is set a bit lower?

thanks!

Get one that you can rock with both feet, rather than a stand thing at one end, it's less tiring. We had a Mothercare one that has now seen 7 babies and going strong. It adjusts to sit right up straight which is great for weaning and has a washable cover (great for my reflux baby).

i wouldn't bother - just use the car seat!

WeWish - did you see that article linking car seats to cot death?

Quootiepie · 11/12/2006 02:17

sorry, that sounded really rude. basically, I think they recommend no more than 20 mins at a time in a car seat as their lungs get crushed... thats the jist of it

ds2 loves his papasan. I think it's fisher price. but it doesn't have a toy bar, just music and vibration.

but rockers/bouncers put babies in the same position as a car seat?

munz · 11/12/2006 07:11

we have a fisher price linkadoos. J loved it - it does into a recliner for sleeping and a toddler chair for when he's a bit older. also has a bar over the top, it's FP. and you can get differnt toys for it. it's the one which is raised off the floor - we thought that would be the better option with 2 dogs! lol.

I think the article refers to the more upright car seats, not the lying down ones.

ah obviously (or not so in this case) i was thinking that most people would look into getting a car seat which offers the best postition for baby. i don't know of any bouncers that lie down though? if you do tell me cos i would consider getting one of those!

the link a doos, is well it has a bit you pull out at the base to make it sturdy, and then baby can sleep in there it keeps the head/shoulders raised as well. here you go the pic of the little boy is how J slept in it. tbh we always had the bar out when he was in it.
