Can anyone reccomend a baby carrier please?

We are looking for one of the 'rucksack' type ones,as DH thinks these are easier on your back.

DD is nearly 8 months & weighs about 18lb,has been sitting up on her own for a couple of months,so has good neck/head control.

I've looked through a couple of catalogues, but frankly, they all look similar,so any suggestions would be useful.

Thanks.

There are a few suggestions on this thread . We've got a Vaude which is still going strong on no.2.

I've got a karrimor but wouldn't necessarily recommend it..if the baby falls asleep (which ours did at 8 months) there is nothing to support it's head and ds ended up with a sore on his nose from it rubbing against his dad's back..we ended up tying a muslim across the front of the carrier to prevent this...but if I were to get a new one the bushbaby one's look good!

We've had a BushBaby one for the last few years which it great! Definately go for a 'rucsac' type - they're much more comfortably both for the parent and the child.

I used to work in a walking shop & sold them. I'd recommend the Bushbaby, Macpac & Vaude for a start. I think there are probably lots more good ones around too. Go to a good walking shop rather than a baby products shop to get some good advice & the best selection.
