Why do changing tables have such low sides? I want a table with HIGH sides- where can I find one?

I don't understand why changing tables all have very low sides that wouldn't stop a baby rolling off. In a Born shop toilet I used a changing table that had really high sides that a baby wouldn't be able to get over until they could stand up, or maybe crawl and climb. It was so much easier to use, as I could take my hands off her whilst I washed my own hands and got my bag together. Unfortunately the shop assistant said the company they bought the table from went out of business (Green baby or similar name).

Has anyone seen any changing tables for sale which have unusually high sides?

I was even thinking of asking DH to make one by hammering wood onto the sides of a regular table! Has anyone done this?

But the baby would never be alone on the table so why do they need high sides?
