Playhouse / teenage den for older children / teenagers

I'd like a den / teenage hideaway for the bottom of the garden - for the children (and their friends) who are currently 10 and 12. It needs to be big enough for a sofa and couple of chairs, perhaps a fridge, TV etc.

I've been googling but can't find anything suitable. Playhouses tend to be small and twee and with younger children in mind, but I don't want just a large shed. Any suggestions gratefully received

A summer house or a bell tent (that might not work for the TV tho')

Caravan?!

HSMMaCM · 20/06/2014 20:50

We did a tent (no tv) at that age and now moving onto using the loft at age 14 (nearly 15)

Yes perhaps I should google summer house instead.

Re caravans - I googled vintage gypsy caravans and they were £15,000 Shock

Depending on budget, you could take a look at Huubie build. They mostly do play frames but are about to build a larger structure for my dc (ages 10 and 8 now, but want to get the longevity). It's a bespoke service, so will build whatever you want.

My friend has a hideaway. Its a shed but nicer, warm, double walls with some kind of insulation in between and electricity. Its gorgeous with French windows
I would love one. I suppose its a summer house but properly built and warm enough to live in
I would love one, think it was around £4-5000

I've just googled summer house images and I say get one of them and have it for yourself. Let the kids have the boring old living room.
