New heights furniture

I want a new oak table and chairs for our kitchen and looked in new heights today, loved the furniture but DH didn't like the prices. On their internet site it talks about ex display furniture being available - has anyone seen any and is it very distressed? Where else do you suggest I look - ideally I want a table that is beween 120-140cm unextended and then extendable by either one leaf or two. Ideally solid not veneered and as for chairs, well I will worry about them when i've worked out how much the table will cost!!!!!

I've seen some - it looked completely unused (saw bookcases and a couple of chairs). Their showrooms tend to look quite carefully kept and the customers not the sort to jump all over the furniture, so perhaps you don't need to be quite as wary as you would over other places ex-display.
