The clothes are reasonable, but I don't have experience of their soft furnishings.

suejonez · 07/06/2006 16:14

I've bought sheets from them, I would say reasonable (ie acceptable for the price) quality, not good.

lilymum · 07/06/2006 16:15

I have a sofa cover from La Redoute that you tie over a sofa, and it's doing pretty well. It's a heavy cotton, easy to wash and I would say does the job absolutely fine. Our sofa is slightly an odd shape, and after a couple of years use, a seam has torn slightly because of the tension on it, but I think that's our fault, and anyway is easy to repair.

lucykate · 07/06/2006 16:15

i'm hoping the sofa covers are alright. when we move in 3 weeks time. we are having a sofa from mil and i'm going to order one as soon as i've got the measurements so know which size to get. may even slip in a pair of jeans on the order too, plus a bed throw, oh and some cushion covers. oh no, i'm on a roll! Wink

blueteddy · 07/06/2006 16:18

Don't know about soft furnishings, but I am not at all impressed with the quality of the clothes.

franca70 · 07/06/2006 16:39

thank you all. I'll probably get one as I have a 20% discout. Many of the things seem to be out of stock now, though. The AM/PM (??) line seems quite trendy...

dunno but they takes ages to process orders. Am still waiting for a swimming costume. the summer will be over soon!

And they bollx'd up on my intro code and they denied all knowlege, and wouldn't give me the discount. So you know.

Would not shop there again for this reason alone, tbh.

franca70 · 07/06/2006 17:02

Oh no, I've just ordered! Hope you'll get your swimming costume asap. I'll see how it goes with my order then.

I don't like to say this Fillyjonk, but when they took ages to deliver my swimming costume I eventually got....

a letter saying "sorry, sold out"

aelita · 07/06/2006 22:32

Generally, no to be honest. I ordered a metal kitchen unit from their AM.PM catalogue recently and the quality was unbelievably bad. One of the shelves was fixed at a crazy angle and the whole thing was rusty! I've never found the clothing to be great quaality either when I've occasionally ordered via MIL.

franca70 · 08/06/2006 11:53

now i really regret having made an order...

DumbledoresGirl · 08/06/2006 12:08

Franca, you can always send it back free of charge. Don't worry!

southeastastra · 08/06/2006 12:13

they probably have to make them to order? you can track your la redoute order online i think

franca70 · 08/06/2006 14:30

you are right dumbledoresgirl. but I always feel a bit anxious everytime I buy on the internet... .... I feel like my granny talking in a mobile phone...

OP posts:
DumbledoresGirl · 08/06/2006 16:19

I know what you mean Franca, but I don't see La redoute as internet shopping as I also ordered things from them through the post and spoke to them on the phone etc. It is a fine distinction, I know, but that made it feel safer to me!

I have to say too, that I never had any trouble returning things but I did once get charged twice for something (but they sorted it eventually) and I do think your impression of them rests heavily on how good your courier is. Mine was fine - you simply rang her up and she came round and collected returns very quickly, with no fuss. I just wanted to say that to counteract somewhat the negative posts here.

franca70 · 09/06/2006 09:23

I agree with you about the courier. I'll let you know about the sofa cover when it arrives.... It was an impulsive buy, I bought a WHITE sofa cover, what was I thinking anyway with two small children! (it's probably one of those acts of rebellion as the kids have completely took ove the living room)

i've just placed an order, had to do it on phone as i'm on a mac and their site doen't work properly for me. ordered :

fitted sofa cover in red

they were very helpful on the phone, as we move in 2 weeks, i'm having it delivered to a friends address who lives where we are moving to as its all stuff for the new house.
