Does anyone have either of these?

What do you think of them?

oo I do like the look of the iCandy Apple - is it new? Can't find a price though..

LIZS · 02/06/2006 17:38

I'm sure there was a previous thread on the i-candy apple and it was featured in Junior a few months back with a ££££ price tag. \link{http://www.verdicts.co.uk/reviews/68188/68188.html\Ths review} suggests £400 ish !

It's between Bugaboo and Quinny Speedy in price, and seems also to be a sort of Quinny version of Bugaboo (different make, though).

The Quinny seemed to me more comfortable to push (I have a problem with my right wrist), but OTOH its basket is pathetic. I also like the fact that the iCandy can have the ushchair seat facing the pushchair. The shop made a big deal of the fact that the iCandy carrycot is braced so that it won't wobble, whereas the Quinny one is not. It made sense to me, but never having used a carrycot I don't know whether it's fixing a prbolem that deosn't exist.

Ooooooo thanks prettycandles. I'm looking at getting a new pram and was seriously thinking of the speedi but now looked at the icandy apple and love it. Have emailed them and asked a bunch of questions (will it fit a buggyboard, how does it fold down, etc). If price is right, might go for it.

bluebear · 04/06/2006 21:28

Think a friend of mine has the Quinny (not totally sure of model but will check) - her dh chose it for the looks but it is c**p at kerbs and small steps, so she ended up with a maclaren type stroller asap.
Will check the model but think it's the Speedy.

PrettyCandles · 04/06/2006 21:31

Thanks, BB. The shop guy implied that 3-wheelers aren't as good at kerbs as 4-wheelers, even though they're better over rougher terrain. Do you find that with your E3?

I can't believe that people choose buggies by appearance - it seems so irrelevant to me.

Hi - just realised that it's you PC :o

My E3 is the queen of buggies, the goddess buggy of the universe, etc etc..it's fab to push over anything, anywhere even when it had to cope with a lumpy 4 yr old and small but strangely dense (weightwise of course) 1 year old.
It's still in service, carrying dd and our nanny's baby (and sometime our nannyshare baby) from pillar to post......So it's not all 3 wheelers.
My fantasy buggy for imaginary dc3 is a straightforward m+p pramette, as long as no more c-sections, that's how boring I am.

bluebear · 04/06/2006 21:42

Oh, and BTW, belated congratulations PC (and hugs to Mr PC and the PrettyTealights).

PrettyCandles · 04/06/2006 21:47
Wink

Yes, I liked the Pramette, but the Mr won't consider any carseat bar the Britax or the Maxi-Cosi, so I haven't really tried it out.

Well, if you want me to get dh to talk your dh into considering the wonders of a primo viaggio car seat (m+p), just give me the nod We have one sitting in the spare room for demo purposes :)

It all depends on what the good god Which Magazine has to say about it!

(He thinks he's an atheist.)

nixnoo · 14/06/2006 11:00
