I bought a 2nd hnd ELC pop up tent yesterday. Brilliant as it was only a quarter of the price! The only problem is there are no instructions & I haven't quite got the knack of folding up these pop up things. Its one of those play tents with tunnel that attaches. I know its something to do with criossing your arms....can anyone help!?!

fold it flat. turn it upside down.
push two wide sides together and then push down and twist - sort of collapses in on it's self like the sunshades for car does.

I bought one of them from Ebay aswell, where do you put the poles???!!!

I just wrestle with mine furiously and eventually it knuckles under and folds itself up. I find it helps if you growl while you're doing it.

You can buy sunshades anywhere, mothercare, toys r us, halfords

Have succeeded in folding it, complete with growls, but it just won't stay down!

Haven't you got a bag? It will stay down if you put it in the bag!

ME TOO!!! Bought mine 5 years ago from ELC and it has NEVER popped down!! It sits in the shed flat with two pegs holding it together Grin

No, there was no bag - there lies the problem then. I was just going to put it in a bin liner!

No sympathy as I have a 8 metre kite that requires a similar method to get it into its 90 cm diameter bag. Agree lots of growling.

It tends to sit quietly for days in its bag waiting to pounce on anybody that opens the cupboard door to far. Its no fun being attacked by a 8m kite along with hundreds of lines in the dark. Must keep DH away from Ebay in future damm kite!!! Grin.

Yes we use a couple of platic clamps to hold together 2 giant sunshade things we have, never thought of using them on the kite.

you cannot let it know it is the boss.
You must be calm.
If you find yourself wrestling furiously with it, put it down, go away and come back later.
It's a bit like pastry. Do not get hassled.

I have a shop which only stays down when you put it in the bag but the pyramid type tent is not quite as bad....
