I suppose they may exsist, I searched for cheaper shoes and jazz outfits but not any cheaper than local dance shop once you added P&P. have you had a look at Ebay, I wouldn't buy shoes (prefer get dd to try them on) but perhaps for outfits.

I kitted DD out in vest tops and bootcut leggings from asda and tesco last year and she looked fantastic. Her previous jazz outfit was made up from a swim suit and a bikini set with shorts and a wrap over skirt in a lovely shiney fabric, I canabalised them and made a great 2 piece outfit for £6.

thanks skribb, I've only just had a chance to check back. Obviously not many people with answers to this particular prob. Having googled the subject I think yours is probably the best idea, just find crop tops and leggings etc in the chain stores. Ta.

It depends on the type of dance too as to what they all wear. DD has noticed that all the olders girls wear dark jazz pants (trousers) and crop tops and that it it just the younger ones that wear the mad disco type outfits for jazz that cost over £30.

You may check discount dancewear online here. Dance Direct sell dancewear for different dance styles, though mostly for jazz and ballet. They sell such brands as La Plume, Capezio, Nike and the choice is rather wide. The prices are more than reasonable, especially in the Sales section.
