most bike shops should have them, just let them know the size

spinach · 23/03/2006 21:52

halfords

madmarchhare · 23/03/2006 21:56

Large Mothercare stores that have technicians on site sell them too. Just call them and they will tell you where your nearset one is.

Where are you?

BadHair · 23/03/2006 21:58

To save it happening again use Slime inside the tyres - you can get it from bike shops. Saved mine from numerous punctures.

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:02

Madmarchhare-Im in somerset.
Badhair-I recently bought a special roll of material stuff to put in tyres. stopped most thorns getting through but not the big ones!
will try halfords. Will they do it on line? I dont have any transport.

\link{http://www.pushchairs.co.uk/acatalog/punctures.html\inner tubes in sets} ask them nice and they might just send singles if need be. Or if you are deperately without transport I will be wheeling past my local pushchair garage (bike shop) tomorrow if you need one posting?

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:26

oh Squarer thats fab! I will send for set of 3 then can replace them all.I have a little stroller I have been using! Not the easiest to push but it will do for now.Thank you so much.Grin

Tortoise - I had the squirty stuff not the roll, as it seemed easier to get inside the tyres. In the end I got the man in the bike shop to put it in for me, but so far it's stopped punctures from glass and nails. Sadly doesn't stop tyres from deflating due to pressure from heavy child and shopping overload though!
Halfords do sell it - £6.99.

Squarer · 23/03/2006 22:27

Just a thought - it is the Mountain Buggy you have isn't it Tortoise?

changedmynickname · 23/03/2006 22:27

I actually think I have one sitting in my cupboard, I brought it to replace my inner tube but didn't for some reason. I could look tomorrow for you if you want.

Rounder · 23/03/2006 22:35

gosh, never knew inner tubes was such an emotive subject you had to use an alter ego to post!

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:35

changed my name for an embarrassing thread, and realsied that I had posted under this name striaght away, but can't changed it back as everyone will know then. Blush

Squarer · 23/03/2006 22:39

Excellent! Offer still stands to pick some up for you tomorrow if you wish. They will just be ordinary ones though, but would be cheaper.

Whilst they claim only two people have reported punctures, I bought not only the thorn proof inners but a set of knobbly tyres and have had 2 punctures (I do some pretty serious offroading though - she says sounding like those two off the Fast Show - LETS OFF ROAD!!!)

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:39

changed my nickname- sorry getting confused now! what do u think u have in your cupboard??

OP posts:

Squarer · 23/03/2006 22:41

lol changedmynickname Grin People out themselves unwittingly all the time, so at least you get to keep your anonimity!

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:42

Do you know roughly how much cheaper it would be? inc postage for you of course.I dont go off road but the path i walk along to town has a big prickly hedge which the farmer has just cut leaving spiky sticks all over the path and also have a lot of brambles along the path!

Squarer · 23/03/2006 22:42

I have 3 spare inner tubes somewhere. Last time I got a puncture, could I find where I had specially put them away for such an event? [i'm a f*ckwit emoticon]

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:47

Do you think i can charge the careless farmer for the tubes for dropping bits on a foot path!!!Grin

OP posts:
Squarer · 23/03/2006 22:50

You can sue him if you have video evidence!

I think they're about £4 a piece off the top of my head. I could find out for sure tomorrow if you like as I am passing?

tortoise · 23/03/2006 22:52

That would be good thanks. Will keep web site in favs just incase works out better for 3 of them! Dam forgot to put my buggy cam on that day! Grin
