If 2nd class stamps cost 50p or something ridiculous, how come I received franked mail with 31p postage on yesterday?

Is there something about franked mail I should know? Should I buy a franking machine?!Hmm

Yes, franking machines give you a big discount vs individual stamps. You have to buy or rent a machine and not sure but think there is a minimum monthly spend.

The sender may have stockpiled a load of franked envelopes before the price hike.

What date was on the franking?

bramblina · 04/10/2012 23:34

It was Monday's date. That's a pretty good discount then!

31p is the current price for franked 2nd class post

I'm trying to remember how much our franking machine at work used to cost. I do remember putting a code lock on it after one numpty sent about 15 letters out at £2.22 each...

They are expensive to hire iirc.

Yes, think we pay £500 per month ish for ours and spend £8000 per month on postage (i mean my employer's company, not at home - I am not some mad penpal woman)
