Beep! Beep! Come and have a butcher's at Mumsnet Cars

Hello. Today, we're launching Mumsnet Cars in partnership with What Car?, (as trailed by Justine on this thread a few weeks ago).

Please do come and have a look - and give it a little test drive.

As well as our good old Cars Talk forum - where you can get recommendations from other MNers on everything from satnavs and fan belts to the best wheels for a family of four (or five or six) - there are expert and Mner reviews of hundreds of new cars, plus a buyer's guide and a used-car valuation tool.

Do let us know what you think. It's all very much a work in progress (Tech is still underneath the bodywork, twiddling with the geek equivalent of the oil sump), so all feedback most welcome...

Like the concept... But some off the review copy is pretty sexist. It could have been written by clarkson himself. For example, Citroen grand c4 Picasso. The description of parking sensors as 'ladies who lack spatial awareness: it tells you the parking space is too small' beggars belief, but my jaw dropped at the advice re resisting using interior chrome as makeshift mirrors for checking hair and make up. Come on, mumsnet!

@BIWI

There should be a tab back to 'main' Mumsnet as well.

There is, BIWI, right at the top right... Big blue thing...

For some reason I expected it to be at the top left - probably because the back button on my toolbar is there

I found myself over there and was terrified. I clicked on a thread and suddenly was in an alternative universe. Can I have a SatNav to help me back to the mothership when lost?

Derklugehans · 23/07/2012 18:24

Gah, I'm over here again....where's the goddamn mothership?

But that link takes you too far back, Helen. We need a link back to Active Convos, or Threads I'm On or Threads I Started, etc

Look at the bottom of the Discussions of the Day box, BIWI (and all), and you'll find three (blue) links to the Topics list, Active Convos and Search.

Thanks for alerting us to this. Yes, we can see that there are a few reviews that could do with being, er, polished. We're working with What Car? on getting that sorted ASAP.

Thanks Helen. Blush at not noticing that!

I couldn't see an obvious 7 seater section- that would be useful in addition the other categories 4x4, family, estate etc. Even though it would mean some cars appeared in more than one category
