table mats - I need some and am torn between classic and possibly a bit boring (eg leather from White Co ) or somthing a bit more funky. Need something on line really any ideas?

How about these which are both leather and funky (IMO)

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 24/02/2006 14:09

do you know - I saw those and was quite taken, but I think it would require a complete style revamp (new curtains, new lights, new furniture) which - much as I would like to do it - seems a slightly perverse way to get table mats that go nicely on your dining table

Yes - quite. Are you after something more neutral (yet funky) then? Or any particular colour?

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 24/02/2006 14:31

the problem is that I do love bright colours but our curtains kind of dictate that everything else needs to be neutral - they're a sort of terracota-ish colour. so bright red or pink (both of which I would like tbh) are kind of out. I hate the curtains tbh but there's nothing really wrong with them - i fact very good quality - so can't justify the cost of replacing.

These are quite nice, but out of stock (typical!).
Too kitsch? Too floral?

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 24/02/2006 21:43

like the kitsch ones - am off to browse that website

Here here here! This is the website I've been scouring magazines for all afternoon and finally found - love lots of these!

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 24/02/2006 22:16

THANKS! spoilt for choice - they're FAB. off for a browse...

Took me ages to find - I'd looked at the website a few weeks ago, but couldn't remember where I'd seen it. Hunted right through my internet history and all magazines, before finally finding it in the back of BBC Good Food mag. Hope you find something you like, whether there or elsewhere!

did you do all that scouring for me? if so big thank you. Do you think I could get away with mixing the Gillian Blease ones? - I think they look better mixed but maybe it's a bit ott?

I think you could - maybe have a selection of 3 different designs in the best colours for your room?
