Anyone want to share top car buying tips with me?

So we're on the hunt for a new car and I HATE the game that is negotiating a sensible price so wise MNers I need your help to deal with the vultures sales people that descend on you as you open the door to the lovely shiny showroom.

DH is worse than me at haggling so I always end up being the cheeky arse and asking for money off the ticket price. I get flustered and am really not looking forward to it.

What's your top tips?

Do not buy a Citroen.

That is the only sound advice I can offer.

How bizarre, we went to the citroen garage as I liked the new DS4 but no one spoke to us so we left. By then DH stubborn arse said no way are we buying citroen so we now have a shiny nearly new seat
