HELP!! Need to buy a Moses Basket as a gift TONIGHT, which one is best?

I have been tasked with buying a Moses Basket TONIGHT for a friend/lady at work.

Please help!! What is best these days? My DD is now 5 and I am sure she was only in the MB for a few weeks as she was so tall?

Is this the best idea or a downstairs mini swinging cot type approach?

They are all pretty much the same and last about 5 mins - if you can get the baby to go in them in the first place.

Vibrating bouncy cradle thing much more useful,and you can take that into the bathroom with you.Sorry, not much help .

I got a great Clar de Lune one form tesco.com. Do you need to physically get it tonight or just order it? Mamas and papas ones are a little longer than average and have some nice designs but I found they had barely any instock instore and were mainly order only
The stands from therr are very sturdy and good quality.

We bought a one from toys r us for our neice which has good selection if theres one near you but I found the stands rubbish wood and not sturdy. my dd lasted 3 minths in hers but.neice is still in hers at 6months.

Are you buying with other peoplea money too, like in a collection? If so id go with what has been agreed. Also if the mum to be knows she ia gettimg a mosea basket off you she may allready have bought a crib as some people like both.

I prefered a basket to a crib as even though it didnt last as long, it was portable and I even took it on holiday (uk I didnt put it on a plane)
