Is it just me or are 360° cups just ***ing impossible to take apart for cleaning?

I have finally capitulated and thrown the bloody thing in the bin, but it can be reprieved if I'm just being dense. I can see mould growing between the rim and the seal, but just cannot get that inner ring thing out. I've tried bashing it with the rolling pin, grabbing at the tab on the plastic ring thing with pliers, swearing at it, throwing it across the kitchen. Nothing doing. Have now consigned most of to the bin, the cup part (which can't just be used as is as has a thread on it) is staying to be used as plant pot holder (I have trouble just throwing things away).

I have found reviews online by people stating that the lid is easy for their 3yo to remove- even my DH has trouble removing the lid of ours!!! You have to hook a finger inside the tab on the lid and pull really bloody hard before it'll budge. Dismantling the spout and seal is damn nigh impossible. I'm not sure I've ever bought a children's item less fit for purpose than this is.

Ours was crap. I never managed to get the rim / seal apart once. And I am capable of quite a bit of brute force when I need it.

Gave up in the end and just used it as a cup without the lid.

Glad it's not just me then!
