£80 Amazon voucher - would like a Kindle. Do I wait for the Kindle Fire to come out in February?

Or not? Confused

Not really sure what I want or what I'm dealing with.

I want an e-reader, deifinitely, and I would be likely to use it for Internet access.

Umm...maybe I should just buy a normal one?

Help!

Have a look at the worst reviews of the Fire on American Amazon. See if the things they complain about are things that would bother you. Then decide.

I have the older 3G Kindle with experimental browser. It's shite and very battery-draining, only for use in some kind of emergency.

Thanks I did, OldLady, at your suggestion - they don't make pretty reading, do they?!

Maybe the smaller wi-fi Kindle would do.

I have the little 6" kindle 4, and I love it. got it Christmas day, used it everyday and havent had to charge it yet. Ive used the internet on it, but not loads. it is, however, the best present Ive ever had. and the lack of keyboard isnt an issue at all!

Thanks Noone - so is it this one?

I have the same one as Noone and I love it. I only use the wi-fi for buying books. I love having something that is designed for reading without distraction, to "disappear in your hands," so I haven't really used the internet facility. I get on my laptop for that.

Kindles turn out to be a very tactile and pleasing object to hold, very light, too. I used to read books on my iPhone and my wrist would go floppy!

Yep, that one!

yep, totally agree with pishwife. I thought I would use the internet on it, but I have the laptop and my phone for that. its so much lighter than the other ones.

Hve Amazon stated the release date yet,I thought they kept putting it back and no defenite date had been announced.

If you want an e-reader get the regular Kindle.

If you want a tablet computer, get the Kindle Fire.

They are almost completely different devices.
