I want LeapPad cartridges and books for my 5.5 year old dd. Dh went out at Christmas time and got her a Bear in the Big Blue House book aimed at pre-schoolers up to 5, and a Scooby Doo book that is for readers up to the age of 8!
I need some that are more appropriate for her age, and that will keep her on track for the English language and her reading skills.

I live in France but would be willing to pay for the books and the postage!

Come on! I know you're out there!

Are you after second-hand books, or suggestions?

Rhubarb · 13/01/2006 12:28

Oh sorry, I'm after second-hand stuff!

Woolies near us had some half price at 5.99 - I think - no idea how much postage would cost. Happy to go & have a look on Monday if you like. I remember seeing a Shrek one age 5-8 but they had a few more titles

Rhubarb · 13/01/2006 12:47

Oooh, she'd love a Shrek one! Could you possibly have a look for me Whizz?

Yes - no probs but it will have to be on Monday though so can't promise there will be any left - so if anyone else can help in the meantime

Rhubarb · 13/01/2006 13:00

Just had a look on Amazon, they have a second-hand Monsters Inc one for 4.99, but then it's another 3.50 for p&p to an English address (they don't do international), then I'd have to fork out for them to send it here to us, so we're looking at about 11 quid for the one book.

Whizz, if Woolies is expensive then I'll buy this one for her from Amazon. I'll wait to hear from you though.

I heard a rumour that they were about a fiver in Asda at the moment. I'm not an Asda shopper though, sorry.

zephyrcat · 13/01/2006 13:23

I'm off into town this afternoon and know that woolies had shrek (age 6-8 i think) and toy story 2 (age 4-6) and are reduced to a fiver.... do you want me to get you shrek and/or toy story 2 this afternoon?

(if they are still there!)

zephyrcat · 13/01/2006 13:24

Can also look in Asda while I'm there for other titles if you like?

geogteach · 13/01/2006 13:24

Have you tried ebay, we got the toystory 2 one for DS1 for Christmas and it was in a sealed packet. So not previously used.

misdee · 13/01/2006 13:30

I saw some in Asda the other day and they are cheap!!

Rhubarb · 13/01/2006 13:51

zephyrcat yes please! Shrek and Toy Story sound good! I only need 2 really.

Trouble with eBay is that very often they won't post out here, and the French eBay only sells French LeapPad books!

ok am off into town in the next hour so will pick up those two if they are still there...I'll look in ASda as well so is there any other characters/stories she loves in case those aren't in Woolies?

zephyrcat · 13/01/2006 14:05

Thinking about it I might as well post them from town as well! Email me your address... [email protected] ... and I'll send them off today

Rhubarb · 13/01/2006 14:05

Erm, well she does like Shrek, Fairy Tales, I don't know what's on offer so it's hard to say. A big No to anything Disney or Barbie though (like Mickey Mouse or anything like that). And I need it for her language skills and reading, so no Maths really.

Thanks very much, you're a star!
