non-annoying kids music????

DS got a cd player for xmas, his dad has gone out and brought the most annoying nursery rhyme cd to go with it. It doesn't even have the right tunes!

Can anyone recommend a cd that won't force me to stamp on the cd player to make it stop?

Ds likes Elvis, Disney songs (esp Mary Poppins and Jungle Book), Oxford Concert Party (folk/world chamber ensemble who do music therapy and children's concerts so their stuff appeals to all ages). We bought him a McFly CD for Christmas after a huge amount of bold chat about how he loves them and...guess what? Unplayed.
Scissor Sisters are good too but you have to sing loudly on occasion to drown out some rude bits...

I notice no-one has had the face to even bring up The Wiggles
If I want elderly antipodeans for my kids I'll stick with Crowded House thanks

Nurser rhymes and songs do have an important role to play in our collective folk history as well as socialisation for children. The lyrics and melodies are kept simple so that children can own them, adapt them... Enjoy them.

I like to go on YouTube and look for children's song compilations and I've found loads of really good and sometimes amusing song this way!

Some English CDs/downloads which struck me as good are below. They are on the folky side.
