I'm sorry for the shamelessness of this plug, I am an old time MN'er who happens to be extremely proud of my wonderful husband, who has been writing for years as a hobby and finally has pulled it all together and has just got himself published via kindle. We'd really appreciate any feedback.

OUT NOW!!! "All The Dead Are Here" by Pete Bevan. A collection of 17 short horror stories. Very reasonably price at the Amazon kindle store. You don't need a kindle. You can get the app for smartphone, PC, Mac, or iphone. Treat yourself to a bit of a trick this Halloween, and if you like it please leave a review on Amazon.

Bumping and Looking on Amazon

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 23/10/2011 22:50

Thank you for being so kind onagar. I'm well aware that self promotion on here can sometimes get peoples backs up as such so I really appreciate your kindness. I just want him to get as much exposure as possible-I think he's brilliant ofc, but at this stage were just interested in genuine reviews and feedback.

Who knows where it will go from here.

Oh if my DP had written a book I'd be telling friends, the postman, people at the bustop... :)

I just read 'Islands' on the sample and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's worth reading just to find out what 'Music Shop' was doing.

Anyway, I just have to see if they are all as good so I bought a copy for my kindle. I don't normally do reviews, but I'll have a go when I've had time to read it all.

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 24/10/2011 09:01

OOOh THANKYOU! I have a massive grin on my face right now!

I love "Islands" it's my most favourite, but theres a few other gems on there too. His most recent "The Tellers Apprentice" is another big fave of mine, and "Leaving Liminality".

I genuinely hope you enjoy them. DH will be delighted, not only is his work giving people pleasure this whole thing is a bit of a toe in the water for him and he's been so nervous. I'm so proud of him!

Usually self promoting does put my back up but as you sound so proud and I love short stories, think I'll take a look [hsmile]

modernlifeishubris · 26/10/2011 17:56

Right, have bought it without even reading sample. These had better be good

GarrottingItLaldy · 26/10/2011 18:02

Have bought it because I'm a fan of the genre and am currently suffering pregnancy related insomnia. I'm hoping that if it's good, it help to while away the sleepless hours. On the other hand, if it's bad, it might just succeed in putting me to sleep Grin

skeletonfishbonesandlilacs · 26/10/2011 22:21

I do hope you all enjoy, and thank you for putting up with my gibbering on about it.

Just finished this last night: brilliant!

GarrottingItLaldy · 31/10/2011 20:21

I've only read the first 2 stories so far but it's getting a big thumbs up. Finding it properly chilling which I find lacking from many other books in the genre. Planning an early night tonight so I can read some more.

HappyMoleDeletedByEvilMole · 31/10/2011 20:26

Please make a hard copy. I love this genre but don't have a kindle or iphone or other scary technology

Smile
fishandlilacs · 08/11/2011 14:55

happymole theres going to be a paperback copy coming very soon. I have the first 2 issues in my hand-theres a bit of work to be done and it will cost a little bit more because of production costs but watch this space.

To everyone else who has bought this, read this and loved it, thank you so much. DH and I are very grateful to you for taking an interest, and he's happy to hear that you have enjoyed it.

Please please please can I urge you to take a few minutes of your time to post a review on amazon if you haven't already. The reviews are what make the book a success and the good ratings are what make more people buy it plus they are extremely important to my DH delicate ego :)

fishandlilacs · 13/11/2011 20:22

Due to the amount of interest we have had in a paperback version of this book "All the Dead are Here", it is with great pleasure I can announce that the PAPERBACK version is now available for the first time, including a new introduction. So why not buy a copy and you can have the Minister stare down at you from your bookshelf!

Please please please can I beg of you who read this and enjoyed it, please please leave a review on amazon. We have sold 100 copies and only have 6 reviews and 4 of them are from people we know personally.

Reviews are so important to authors for a sales and a feedback basis. Please can i beg 5 minutes of your time.
