Has anyone else had the same problem? Can't believe it, still three weeks to go.

No, ordered on Monday delivered free supersaver delivery thingy today.

Can you get your bits else where?

kikireindee · 02/12/2005 21:05

Could do, but with much extra hassle, and probably more expensive. It just seems a bit bizarre so wondered if anyone else was experiencing it or just me.

I guess it depends on what you order from them, quite a lot of the zshop traders are delivering as normal, can you get it from one of them?

BudaBabeInAManger · 02/12/2005 21:08

I had a problem the other day - tried ordering some DVDs and books and they said they wouldn't be DISPATCHED till end of Jan!!!

I delted the books and hey presto - no proble.

And before you ask - I did check that everything was "usually dispatched within 24 hours"!!!

I think they have a problem somewhere - I tried to contact them but it is just impossible.

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 02/12/2005 21:11

I ordered some books, cd's and a dvd today - all due to me between 8th-10th December. I've always found them fine though.

Touch wood...

MerlinsBeard · 02/12/2005 21:13

try tesco, same kind fo prices if not cheaper, or play.com

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 02/12/2005 21:14

play.com are good but tesco's are the devil!

MerlinsBeard · 02/12/2005 21:15

i ordered form tesco jersey and had no probs, could have been a fluke tho lol!

saffy202 · 02/12/2005 21:17

I got that too - went with Tesco Jersey

Janh · 02/12/2005 21:21

play.com are fab, practically next-day delivery at no charge (more limited choice than amazon though esp for books)

dvd.co.uk are very good for box sets.

Bozza · 02/12/2005 21:24

I have always found Amazon to be sh$te at this time of year. My order that I checked was due for delivery between 21 Dec and 6 Jan. Not good enough. I cancelled and went to Play.

kikireindee · 02/12/2005 21:31

Almost exclusively books so I will try and do a huge Borders raid tomorrow and get DH to carry heavy bags!! I can't believe the service though - I'm not that late with the order.

If you're going to Borders, print this voucher and have 20% off

kikireindee · 02/12/2005 21:47

Thanks AwayinaMunker, that was the plan! I used one last night as well.

just had an email saying something i ordered 2 weeks ago is now not going to come. Had ordered a few extra bits so i got free delivery and have had to cancel them cos dont want to pay delivery for them without the main present! Managed to get the main present from argos though and pick it up on wed. Thats the 2nd thing ive had to hunt around for after ordering on net failed!

Nightynight · 02/12/2005 22:22

Ive just done an Amazon order, I opted for the free delivery and they said it would be dispatched 9-12 December. Unfortunately, it is for dd's birthday on the 7th, I had forgotten there would be a seasonal problem [thick emoticon]

kikireindee · 02/12/2005 22:28

I have managed to find most of my things on WH Smith's site and have ordered from there. Only problem is they don't give you an estimated despatch date. Fingers crossed!

had the same problem last year with amazon and whsmith.

atleast this year they are telling you when to expect delivery so you can make the choice

I enden up receiving some things a month after xmas!
