Is playmobil stuff too young for a 6 year old boy?

lego and mecano

I'd say Playmobil was much too young, yes. Lego and Meccano probably much more appropriate.

No my DD age 7 loves her Playmobil Noah's Ark. It just depends what they like.

You could play safe with Magnetix.

is meccano the one that you build with little tools? if so, how tricky is it?

My ds aged 6 still loves his playmobil castle and knights - it's his favourite toy by far.

My 6 year old son still plays with Playmobil and I wouldn't say it is too young for him - in fact a lot of it is a bit too fiddly for younger children.

wordgirl · 30/11/2005 13:17

Or maybe my ds is just lacking in the manual dexterity department!

LIZS · 30/11/2005 13:26

ds is 8 in March and still loves it. He has the Pirates - ship, island, jail and lagoon - Builders -crane, portacabin, portaloo, road set -Rescue helicoptor and boat and assorted other bits and pieces. We've got him the Rock Castle for Christmas too.

Also loves Lego and Knex but not Meccano.
